Freelander 2006 Towbar Help.

Hello everyone.

I've had my Freelander TD4 2.0 2006 since May of last year and its been as good as gold to me and never let me down, it's an absolute pleasure to drive, I'm not one for taking finance on a brand spanking new vehicle just to lose 25% of value as soon as you leave the showroom. Older cars have always attracted me and to a certain degree, allow you to tinker about and repair if neccessary without the garage bills or dealer rip offs.

Im looking to fit a towbar, I've found one on eBay for around £90.

But I've been doing some research and some web pages are saying you need to use scotchlocks?

Can anyone shine some light on this? what scotchlocks are and what they do? do i need these? how much?

Also how easy would it be to fit the towbar?

Many Thanks

scotch blocks.......just little wedges to keep your truck from rolling.

ok thanks for that...

Does anyone know if there are any specific instructions i need to wire the electrics? any additional plugs/wires?

are there designated holes under the chassis to attach the bar? here is the towbar kit I have seen on eBay...

Fixed Flange Towbar Kit For Land Rover Freelander 1 1998 To 2006 | eBay

Mentions something about a bypass relay? Anyone know what this is?

Regards
