06 RR Bluetooth Question
Hello. First of all, I'm glad to have found this forum... good stuff. I just bought a certified 06 RR HSE with 25,000 miles on it and am absolutely loving it. I debated between a BMW 745i and an 03 RR HSE back in 2003 and decided on the 745i because I was leery of the reliability of the RR. I kept the 745i for a year or so and then went back to another BWW M3 which I have owned quite a few. Anyway, I just sold my M3 after a year of owning it and finally bought the RR I should have gotten years ago. What a sweet driving vehicle... and so comfortable for someone 6' 6" like myself. Ok... enough of my recent history. I have a question.
Since I bought the RR used, I don't know the passcode in order to pair my iPhone with the vehicle. Is the dealer the only way to reset this? I have to get a mirror switch replaced there next week anyway, so it's no big deal if I have to wait until then to fix this. Just thought I'd ask in case there was something I could do myself before I went to the dealer. Thanks in advance for any help...

RE: 06 RR Bluetooth Question
Welcome to the joys, and pains in the a**, of Rover ownership. Good choice though. And you can claim you haven't left BMW completely since the new Rovers are really more BMW then LR. My wife used to have an M5. Bit of a change coming to a Rover... not quite the same umph.
Try using the last 4 digits of the s/n from the main controller box as the passcode.
Could also be due to the lack of support for the iPhone on an '06. You'll have to get the PTI upgraded to work with the iPhone. iPhone isn't supported fully until the '08s. Dealer should charge around an hours labor or so to do it. Cheaper if you're lucky.
Regards

RE: 06 RR Bluetooth Question
What do you mean "there may be other issues there?" Works flawlessly with my iphone or blackberry. In the Sport or the HSE's.
If you're having an issue with connectivity with the factory bluetooth - ask the dealer for the update for your radio. They can
update the software and it resolves most issues. You likely won't get the address book from a BB or iphone, but they tell you
that up front.

RE: 06 RR Bluetooth Question
Thanks a million guys for the help. The 2121 did it, and I actually found it in my owners manual lo and behold... after I checked back here. heheh
My iPhone works perfectly with the Bluetooth except for the functions the manual states will not work via Bluetooth. I appreciate all the replies once again... thanks.
