2006 P38 Error Code 1708

Hi, did scan after engine light went on and got
P1708 Transfer Box Line Short Circuit Fault

Can anyone give me more information on what this is and how it can be fixed?

SORRY, MY CAR'S A 1996 P38 W/ ERROR CODE 1708:

Transfer Box Line Short Circuit Fault

Can anyone give me more information on what this is and how it can be fixed?
