2006 RRS - Lux pkg 16K miles is this a good deal?

Hey Rovers,

I am considering trading in my 05LR3 SEV8 for a 2006 RR Sport HSE Black-Alpaca Lux seats and all options with 16000 miles on it. Is $43K a good price? LR certified with a 75K warranty?

Seems kinda high to me since the general public is steering away from V8 SUV's. Land Rover financing special @ 3.9% is very attractive.

RE: 2006 RRS - Lux pkg 16K miles is this a good deal?

Well....your post strikes a particular cord with me as I'm in the same position - we have as one of our Rovers a 06 RRS with 12k on it and the luxury package also, rear dvds, etc. Paid 65k even brand new in Sept 06 for it - wife thought she wanted it and it has basically sat as she then hijacked my HSE from me.

I asked my dealer, repeatedly, to give me a decent # for it - they came back at $48k on a trade about 5 months ago but I suspect that is at
least $5k less now, maybe more. The problem is you can buy an 08 RRS for about $60k now, they've hardly raised the price, in fact lowered it
with their anniversary, sales event and incentives.

If you're set on a Sport - nothing you can do to come up with a price other than to see what comparable is on the market. I'd dump mine if
the 2010 new (supposed) body styles were out now - and it's too much of a car for the teens to drive. You might consider looking at a HSE
though, as I am noting numerous of those in the mid-40's range too - just dependant on mileage. As you probably know, these things don't
hold their value at ALL - and no one wants to own one out of warranty anymore for the price paid.

How many miles on the LR3 and are you trading it at a good price? You know it's roomier than the Sport (maybe not as cool looking) but basically built on the same frame, etc? Granted we don't like our Disco and that's why she went to the Sport - I think the Sport although cool to look at
drives like crap compared to our HSE's and is very tight inside. I'm not a big guy by any means, but driving it does little more for me than when
I have driven my daughters 08 Honda CR-V

Good luck.
