95 lwb won't turn over

My 95 LWB decided not to turn over today. Every once in a while it will catch and start up, but after a few seconds it dies again. I have no idea what to start with in terms of a fix. My service engine light went on a couple of days ago, but I have not brought it into my mechanic to see what codes might need attention. I have 180K on the clock.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

RE: 95 lwb won't turn over

I don't have much of an answer, but if you can get the codes read then i would before I started throwing parts at the truck. I put mine under water the other day and blew out the ECM (that will not happen again). I was having a similar problem, but if I got mine cranked it would run until I cut it off. I have a 1993 and access to the fuel pump was just a matter of removing the carpet from the rear cargo compartment. Try this so you can easily hear the pump activate. You'll need to have the key in the ACC. The pump should cycle every 10 or so seconds. I doesn't sound like the pump but it is easy to rule it out. But as you probably know by now these things are cheap to fix and a couple of parts that don't fix you problem could add up.

Good luck. If you can think of anything else its doing let us know, maybe it willgive a better clue to the problem.
