Default abs and break warning lights

I am a new owner of a beautiful 2000 range rover hse 4.6..with 151,000 miles. I just purchased the vehicle a couple days ago and noticed that after I start the engine and all the message center lights check in...the abs light remains lit briefly...and sometimes re lights when brakes are applied along with red brake warning lights in message center...however abs warning is in yellow...does this mean I need new breaks?....

Welcome.

Would start with a check of brake fluid level. If brake fluid keeps being lost there is certainly an issue. You would not want to be driving with a brake light that keeps coming on. ABS does bulb test, then pops back on until you get past 5 mph.

The RAVE is the factory shop manual set, free download below, includes owner manuals as well.

The lights turning on when you hit the brake pedal, is usually an early sign of the accumulator failing. Obviously basic checks for leaks, and fluid level as mentioned above first, but if that checks out, replace the accumulator before you damage the pump.

A few pretty good write ups, and even a rebuild option can be found on here with a search.
