I just had a long conversation with a friend of mine who is a LR Tech. I trust him 100%. He feels strongly based on what he has seen at the dealership that the 07 and newer LR3's, RR's ,and RR Sports have all been more reliable overall than the previous models (03 through 06 for RR, and 05 + 06 for LR3). He said the Jag engines have been much better in terms of overall reliability than the BMW engines. I don't have the details as to why that is, but it's been his experience. Good luck with the decision. Finding one with maintenance records would be the biggest thing in his opinion, regardless of the year.
