EAS Fault Message :(
 

Hello, I got an EAS fault message whiule driving yesterday. I didn't notice anything diferent, the suspension didn't feel like anything blew out, However this morning the message is still there and truck is on the stop bumpers now.

I believe one of my springs has had a slow leak for a long time, hoiping this is what caused the fault.
My first question is, Is it normal when jacking the car for one of the air springs to disconect it self, The bladder on one of my springs disconnected it self a few years ago because I didn't jack the truck up correctly. However I simply lowered the car and re seated the bladder and when the system pressurized itself, all was good again. Should that bladder just slide out when depressurized. Does it slide out on the bottom too.

I found some software online that I plan to try to see if after I clear the fault if I'm home free, I probably should just replace the two front air springs anyway...just want to rule out it being another expensive EAS component.

If you suspect a leaking air bag, spray it down with a soapy solution, you will then see where the leak is coming from, check the valve block as well.

I like the software from RSW, it will do what you need, I did not follow your link though.

The bladders should not come out when jacking up the car, there is an issue there. If it came apart a couple years ago then you are lucky to have made it this long without an issue.

new to the LR nation just bought one a week ago its a 99 4.6 HSE and the EAS did the same to me as you posted . i cant seam to figure it out have the cord and softwear and the damn thing is still on the bump stops ? any ideas :confused:

If you have the software and the cable is made properly then when you reset the EAS then the fault will go away. Now if there is still an issue it will come back. You need to do some checks on everything, run the compressor, and check all the bags. If you cannot get it out of fault mode then you can only go with a manual over ride system to get th ebags fill so you can see if it is a leak in the bag or in the lines.

When you bought the Rover was it on the bump stops or did it do it after you drove it? This is why we always recommend that you put the air suspension through its paces before you buy it. You will need to do some more trouble shooting to start eliminating things.

it was working fine when i first got it the guy i bought it from was showing me how it worked . the day this happend it went from 55 deg
in michigan to 20deg in about 4 hr ? not sure if that would cause the issue but it ran fine before that day ? thanks for the help i will start going thew as much as i can its still cold out :D

Yeah the drop in temperature could cause it. The Rover can be funny when there is an extreme fluctuation in temperature. Park it in the garage and see of it changes after leaving it overnight to warm up.

ok had the grage @ 75 degrees and used the program still nothing ? i can hear it unlock when i does it stars clikcking and the pump will turn on but will not rais .is this because it has no air at all ? :mad: here ar the faults
