Engine shuts off by itselfs
I have a 2006 range rover Hse. While driving slow (etc: trying to find a parking spot, pushing the gas after a red light, or traveling in a 25mph speed zone) my car decides to shut itself off. I restart it back up and drive on. I have also noticed that it tends to get really bad when I have my AC on. I live in FL where it is super hot so it is necessary to have my AC on. When this started I could tell it was sluggish in low speeds anyway but could not figure out what was wrong. My transmission light came on and shut itself off. I had it looked at only to be told they were soft default codes (letting me know something was not right) but since it went off they could not tell me what was wrong when they connected it to the scanner. They keep telling me to bring it back when the transmission light comes back on. Obviously this is becoming very dangerous especially considering I have a toddler that is in the car with me 90% percent of the time.
I have recently had a tune up and had to replace the fuel pump twice about three years ago. I really need to figure out what they deal is. I am always on the edge of my seat ready to put my car in park, restarted and slam on the gas to make sure it goes. Anyone know what it could be? Thanks in advance for any input you may have! |
I would start by cleaning the throttle body(a few threads with good instructions, same procedure as LR3 and RRS). If this takes care of the issue, go to a shop, and have an induction service preformed, and the PCV valve replaced.
