Fault Code P0734

Fault Code P0734
Recently my Service Engine Light came on with a Fault Code P0734. After doing some research it appeared to be related to the Mass Airflow Sensor. I did the cleaning and the light came back on so I purchased a new Mass Airflow Sensor. I have been waiting for it to show up from AB (Atlantic British) which should be today. This morning I started my beloved 2000 RR and the light is off? Anyone know why this would happen?

RE: Fault Code P0734
You jumped the gun, 734 is only one of three codes needed to verify the MAF is bad, you also need to lean codes one for each bank.
Second, you NEVER clean a Bosch MAF, that will surely kill it in short order.
At this point, do not install or open the new MAF, you may or may not need it.
Next time you get a code, get with us so we can keep you from spending all your hard erned money.

RE: Fault Code P0734
Disco, thanks for the information. I just got the MAF today in the mail. I will not open it until told to. I do have a question. Do you think that this could have been cause by a bad tank of gas. The only reason I ask is that I noticed that the light came on a day after I filled up and it went out a day after I filled up again. Don't know if it is just coincidence or if it may be the cause. Anyway do you know why the light would just turn off? Thanks for the help.
