Front and rear brush guard removal
 

So, Ive got brush guards all around on my SE... Its not that I hate them... I just dont want them there. Theyre in good shape... so if anyone wants em, put a bid to me in a PM or something... though, how do I remove them? If I do, is there gonna be like... gaping holes or something?

I removed mine too. The rears were pretty easy, but on the front, you have to unbolt the bumper and the bolts were rusty and snapped off. Having a floor jack and some blocks of wood helps a lot because the bumper is heavy. In my opinion, they look better without the brush guards. My front brush guard is sitting in my garage. I have no earthly idea what to do with it. I'll probably throw it out, but what a shame. They are so expensive to buy. Anybody want it?

are the rears bolted (screwed) to the body?

If I remember correctly, they are stuck on with adhesive so you will need some good adhesive remover.

Once the front is off, is there like... caps or something I gotta buy to cover where it bolts to?

no. It will look fine. It attaches with the bolts that hold the bumper on.

Wow... yea those bolts were insane... broke both...this... uh... should have been done by someone more competent lol... Now what? Is it really just those two on the bottom?

No, there are also two sliding fasteners on the side. If you snapped off the bolts, you have to remove them before removing the bumper. Make sure the bumper is supported. The brush bar and bumper are both heavy.

I've done this several times. Its not that hard... And the bumper, is surprisingly not THAT heavy. Just don't drop it ;). I want to say it weighs 50LBS. Here is the proceedure that I used: http://rangerovers.net/outfitting/bu...ml#bumperemove
