Help needed with navigation system on my range rover 2005

I bought this Ranger Rover with a bad navigation system. Would like to get a replacement. I saw one on ebay for 250.00 but it had a no return, no paypal, type deal and really didnt want to risk that. Any other options?

Basically the dvd player doesnt power up at all and gives error: "navigation not fitted"
the dvd is stuck in there and I can't even get it out.

That sounds like a programing issue, a Dealer is your only option, You cant even install new units without programing the part.
All New Range Rovers use CAN BUS electrical systems. the infotainment system is included. The only time I've seen one fail is from water leaking into the rear of the car, that ran right into the DVD unit and plugs, so look for water stains or corrosion in the plugs.
On these cars if you replace a rear wiper motor,it wont operate untill its been programed to communicate with all of the other ECU's in the car, CAN BUS is kind of like a team of computers that need to know who there talking to before they will operate. NO OPTION HERE,SORRY
