You own a Disco, you belong to this forum, you know all the regulars - head gaskets, engine noise, drive train noise, leaks, leaks, and more leaks. Crawl under and look for "salt" rust in all the places it can get to. Engine knock when cold, oil light takes long time to go out, won't idle for 20 minutes without over heating, .... be sure warning lights come on at power up self test - so you know CEL is not just burned out. Oil in swivels?
Of course, spening an hour with a trusted mechanic, who does not have the puppy love for this truck, might be worthwhile.
Plus is that it has a lot fewer electronic sophisticated things to break.

Well long story short, looked at it and knew right away it was for me and bought it.I am in love lol.there is not a spot of rust on it period.no ticks or knocks no oil leaks everything works.PS weeps a little and there is grease in the swivels but i suspect they need rebuilding as theres some play in the pass side front wheel.not ball joint related.i promise to post pics tomorrow for all you rrc lovers.
