p38 gas flap

Hello,
I've got my RR's dash torn apart and was going to rewire the fuel door so that it will open with the vehicle running. Then I realized that the switch doesn't go straight to the fuel door but goes through the BECM instead. So....I figured I would ask if anyone has done this mod with any success. I didn't want to mess something up. Anyone?? Does anyone like to fuel up with the engine running or am I the only one??

Kinda dangerous... Probably why they make you shut the car off before it will open.

It is very dangerous and in many states it is illegal to pump gas with the engine running.

I think I've abandoned the idea because I think it might mess with the range calculations or in some other way confuse the BECM. I've always fueled up with the engine running. I believe the whole "its dangerous to fuel up when it is running" thing is more suited to the older vehicles and is not so much of an issue with today's vehicles. Just my opinion.
