peeling paint

I have a 2006 range rover sport in blue. The paint is peeling in 2 very large spots on the roof panel. I know it is out of warranty, but you would thinik Land Rover would stand behind their vechicles. In all the years I have purchased vechicles from Fords to Mercedes, I have never had a problem with paint. I have 2 Range Rovers at this time and they will be my last.
STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT

Are you sure it is original paint? My guess is that it probably isn't. The paint on Rovers is usually very good. The paint on my 1997 is perfect and I don't think it has ever spent a day in its life in a garage. It also gets hammered with salt all winter long.

Welcome to the forum
You've had it since new and know it's not a peeling maaco patch job for a coke or brake fluid spill? Have you addressed the issue with the dealer where you bought it? Their response?

I have seen a few of the 322 versions with paint peeling from the roof or clearcoat damage to the hood or roof, seems to be mostly with the dark colors Blue and black

peeling paint on roof of range rover sport

Hi, gpazornik, I am having the same issue that I think you are having. My pics are attached.

I bought a brand new 2006 Vesuvius Orange Range Rover Sport. The paint on the roof has started peeling off. I contacted Land Rover and they told me it was out of warranty but said they had never seen anything like this. I am beginning to think that there is some sort of cover up because I took it to the body shop next door to the Land Rover dealer in Atlanta and the estimator told me had seen several issues just like mine. Land Rover is refusing to pay for the repair-I have talked to LR North America and they have not been of any assistance. I guess the fact that I paid over $80k for their car and then bought my wife an LR3 isn't good enough for them.

Are there other threads on this forum that discuss this similar problem?

same issue

i have a vesuvius that looks exactly the same on the roof - let me know how things worked out for you?

I have the exact same problem too with the roof. In my case the hood is starting to peel too.

Same problem and getting worse

I have the same issue on the roof and hood of my 2006. Originally I thought that it was from an overly strong winter de-icer as it was just above the windshield but then more paint peels started to appear on the hood and also in the middle of the roof. Disappointing tohear that Land Rover don't want to hear about it as other quality manufacturers would a) not have such issues and b) if they had would take ownership.

Could also be used car dealerships cheaply repairing hail damage and sending it back to auction or just selling it. It happens a lot...

BTW my 96 RR's paint is just starting to peel.

the paint on my 99 disco was starting to go on the roof when i got rid of it, the paint on my 93 classic looks good though!
