Replacing air compressor mounts, 1999 P38

Hi. I am in need of good advice.

My compressor mounts are destroyed, need to replace. Ordered two different sets of mounts, part RVL100000 (2) and part RVL100010 (1). The RR service guide says two different mounts are needed.

Problem: These mounts do NOT FIT the current stems that the compressor and mounts fit to, the stems are too big to fit into the mount sleeves.

I spoke with two different factory LR dealers (service) in SF bay area, and got two responses. One said all I need are the mounts (which do not fit) and the other said in addition to the mounts I must purchase a new mounting bracket. Since the new mounts are beefier the new bracket is designed with thinner stems (hence fitting the newer mounts).

Question 1: I suppose the second dealer is correct, but can anyone reconfirm this?

Question 2: The new bracket, are stems all the same size? Reason I ask is I bought 3 new mounts from a 3rd party (the smaller ones, part RVL100000) and will use these if the new stems are all the same size. Do I really need the one RVL100010 mount? I eyed both mount types and the sleeves look the same.

Any help, direction, advice is much appreciated.

Thanks.
