Default The $232.00 Replacement Radiator on EBay

Hello, I recently purchased the $232.00 radiator on eBay for my 1999 Disco 1 from a company called Discount Body Parts. I was having overheating issues and my original radiator was not circulating properly anymore. The radiator came through Fed Ex about 5 days later delivered to my door. The box was pretty beat up when it arrived and I had noticed there was no bubble packing or anything to protect the radiator during shipping. Nevertheless, the truck was brought down the street to the mechanic. The mechanic put the new radiator in which was a perfect fit without any issues besides the fact it had a hairline crack down the side of it that was slowly leaking. I called the customer service at Discount Body Parts and they apologized and sent me a new one which I had 5 days later. The 2nd radiator came and it to came in a beat up box with no bubble packing. I removed this second radiator from the box to inspect it before I brought it down to the mechanic and it was broken at the lower outlet where the bottom radiator hose connects. These radiators are plastic like most of the new replacement radiators. They seemed to be of OK quality looking at them for what you are paying for however they are not packaged properly for shipping therefore causing them to be damaged in transit. I took some pictures of the second damaged radiator including the damaged box and sent them via email to the customer service rep who again shipped me out my third radiator. I had it installed yesterday and drove 100 miles earlier today with no issues. My needle on the temperature gauge stays a little below the half way mark and the truck is running great again. It took 3 radiators but I am finally happy again. Discount Body Parts needs to work on their shipping practices however their customer service was easy to deal with. Thanks, Greg

I bought a new radiator from Auto Parts Warehouse. So far I'm very happy with it. It came very fast and very well-packed. It's cheap but I can't tell why. It's identical to the original. $184 for a Disco II.

Hello Locknload, The radiator on the Discovery 1 series is a lot fatter and is totally different in appearance and design to that of the Discovery 2 I'm glad yours came packed properly because my three did not. Sounds like you got a good deal. Happy Motoring, Greg

Yeah. If nothing else, I wanted to share that they did a good job packing it, so not sure why any other business couldn't do the same.
