'00 Disco Wont Start
 

My Disco wont start after running out of gas on Friday (yes, I know I have been getting it big time from my husband). Anyway, after putting gas in it, it drove fine but once I tried to start it again it doesn't kick over everytime. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. It also quit on me while driving and I had blinking lights going off.

Someone at Land Rover told me that once I ran out of gas I burned up my fuel pump. He quoted my husband about $1000 to get it fixed. Is this possible? After just one time of running my tank out could I have burned it out that quick? I feel like there could be more possibilites and was wondering if someone else ever had this problem?

Have you checked your fuel pump fuse?
Try spraying carb cleaner into the t/body and then try to start the engine, if it starts up them dies, probly is the pump.
By the way, how much gas have you put back into the tank?

Hi Mike, I filled the tank all the way up. My car just got back from being towed from Downtown. Let me go check the fuse and I will get back to you. Also, noticed you talk about a code reader, where can I buy one of those?
