ACE>testbook?

Hey guys, I have a 99' D2. (bone stock-non air ride)
All is well, but my ACE, traction control, and hill decent lights are illuminated... i can't read or clear the codes with my own scanner.
does anyone have a copy of "TESTBOOK" that will work on a hp tablet laptop?
> i have a usb cable interface but cant find any software.
>suggestions?
>different software?
please and thanks,
Ty.

Search the board for "three amigos". All is probably not exactly "well". :-)

And no, Testbook reportedly *requires* the aging, ancient HP hardware, though there are thrid-party solutions like the Faultmate and others which are specific to the Rover's computers.

Ty, what is wrong with yours, have you flushed the system?

typiro 11-17-2009 12:31 PM

Disco Mike,
ya, I just bought it last week...bought it with the lights on (as is)....the previous owner was not mechanicaly suave, and couldnt handle the stealerships etc.
I havent had a chance to do any fluid changes or anything (90k miles its due)...ive been reviewing my RAVE manual and this ACE system is new to me as my last 98' D1 didnt have anything like it.
>the pump is quiet and there is no clunking, leaks, nor is there anything loose that I can tell.
need the lights to go away for a safety cert...in two weeks i just started to clean it up so its off the road till i get a new water pump and fan.
no serious other codes present...just the usual from getting hot...eeerrgg not too worried tho seems fine comp/leak down test is good.

Baylink,
checked out that 3Amigos thread (hopefullly the right one)....i have no other odd electrical function problems that i can figure and havent had a chance to do ABS E-stop to see if ABS is working.
if i can get a copy of TESTBOOK i can make it work, kinda my thing. bu ti will explore your suggestions first(faultmate), thanks!

thanks guys,
Ty.

First, there are no copies of the Test Book you can buy, new T4 with all the software runs around $34,000.
On your ABS, are your breaks squeaking, how about the panic stop, can you feel the brakes pulsate thru the brake pedal?
Send me your number and I'll call so we can talk.

Disco Mike,
sorry for not getting back sooner, busy busy life right now.
>the breaks have new pads and rotors.

i cant do the ABS test drive right now, i have the water pump out.
>however i teased out a "1590" code-RAVE says-neutral position sw,high input...ABS ruff road malfunction..hardware OK but slabs ecu in error signal...not sure quite how to take that..haha
i cleared it, but the 3 lights are still on.

i did take one wheel of the ground and the traction control system did not kick in...
i exchanged the ABS relay for the ENGINE relay and there was no change...

i have to get this skype thing figured out, talk to you next week works got me on nights.
thanks again!!!

My; the spammers are out in force this month, aren't they?

typiro 11-30-2009 01:39 PM

Alright...now im a bit lost.
so discovery2 is running good drives good
>ABS works on panic stop
>ACE seems to work-no body roll.
>performed the hard wire option from the http://www.landroverclubvi.com/abs-mod.html site......tested at proper resistances as per pictures....and manual depressed 1svs adn 2svs checked out good no brake oil leaks.

and still ABS/TC/HDC lights are still illuminated???
I checked the ground in front of airbox.....its okay
the only differance i can tell now is that the ABS light always stays on.
>but on start-up the HDC and TC light go out for maybe 3 seconds then illuminates again.

>is there another common issue before i rip everything apart?
thanks again,
Ty.

Disco Mike 11-30-2009 05:28 PM

ABS lights will stay on till you pay the BIG $$$'s to have them cleared.
Are your brakes squeaking at all. can you do a 30 MPH panic stop on a loose surface and feel the ABS pulsate thru the brake pedal?
