Air compressor clicking with ignition off.

I have a 2000 Land Rover Discovery and the former owner removed the air ride suspension and put in coils. However the air compressor for that system is still trying to actuate and it’s causing a rapid clicking sound underneath my driver door and over time will drain my battery.
Ive seen posts related to the same issue and typically the answer is to have a shop change the system in the computer. Money is tight right now and if I could avoid taking it in I would like to.

Can I remove the compressor assembly entirely to stop the issue or do I absolutely have to take it in?
Can I remove a fuse or relay for the system without it causing any other issues?

any help is greatly appreciated

Best to check in the D2 forum instead of this general one. There are a lot of threads on there about this issue.
The SLS relay is in the fusebox under the hood. I believe it's #5. Pulling that should stop the thing from running.

As far as programming, there may be someone in your area who is willing to help you out. Switching from bags to coils needs a higher-end device, not just something that can read generic OBDII codes.
