Bank 2 rich after new fuel pump

Hi! I am new here, but no stranger to reading some of the great posts and info. I have an 02 Disco ll Westminster. I love her, but I am slowly becoming a qualified Rover mechanic.

I just replaced the fuel pump. Now she is coding bank 2 rich and essentially trying to stall. I changed the sensor. This made no difference. I had zero problems, even with the bad pump... until I put the new pump in.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You and my poor Disco thanks you also. :disco:

Might've found a leaking injector. Any misfire codes?

crazycracker Sep 18, 2016 08:07 PM

Hello. Thank you for the thought. No misfire codes, however I did all the injectors about two months ago and will review my work now. But no misfires and now she doesn't start at all. Im wondering if the pump is faulty.

Remove the fuel line at the rail and see what ya get when the key is turned on. Since the DII doesn't have a return line all the pressure is at the injector. Did you replace the entire fuel pump assembly or just the pump motor?

Excellent info! I will do that ASAP. I replaced the entire assembly. I will let you know the outcome. Thank you very much! Eva

Your welcome, let's see what ya get.

Hi again ih, it looks like the new pump is a dud. So I will be trading it out again. Thank you again for the advice. I will remember it for future use. It was a great help in determining the cause this time also.

Is that your parts store listed under your replys? I will check it out. I always always need parts, even when my truck is running!

Thank you again, Eva

No, those are links to real venders for both new and used parts. Your sure the fuel pump was a dud because it could be a blown fuse or a connector not completely seated.

Hmmm... Now my inexperience is showing. I have it half torn down again, so Ill check. I think Id rather do the injectors again! Lol. This pump is a real crapper. :)

One more thank you. It was not only the connectors, but the fuel line fell off...cheap pump. A lot of new learned lessons. I appreciated your help.
