Body Image Issues
 

Hoping I'm in the right section? New to the forum and Rovers. Just picked up a 02 DII. The body of the vehicle is clean but she seems to have a little body image issue inside the back passenger door area. Basically it's pulverized and the corrosion is through the panel. Any ideas as to how to patch this up before it becomes full blow psoriasis? Anyone had any luck with products off the shelf or should I bite the bullet and take it to a body shop?

There are a few rust converter products out there you can try. They will kill the rust and you can prime and paint to seal it from there.

Now if you want it repaired like new body shop will be the best bet if you aren't into body work.

it looks like hell, doesn't it? thanks for the tip - I was thinking that perhaps I could use a rust converter product, then bondo or something, sand it down and paint it. And then flex seal the heck out of the underside.. either that or cough up the big bucks for the body shop. It has been so many years since I've had to have anything fixed like that. Well over 20 years I reckon. I figured maybe in the past 20 years someone would have used something that could fix anything - haha.. oh well. You wouldn't even know that my Rover has an issue from just looking at it or doing a walk around. God, I hate to know what's going on under the carpet! :eek:
