Set your temps to the lowest temperature setting before shutting off the temp control unit.
Or close your vents.

kool ! Thanks
also, I’m driving thru a lot of Desert country and am getting a lot of dust inside the car (windows closed)
(could be weakened door seals)
but someone recommended setting the air con a few degrees off the outside temp to pressurise the cabin ??
does this sound right ??

There is a vent in the back to prevent the cabin from pressurizing. Have you used the recirculate button on the HVAC control panel? If working properly that should block the fresh air intake. Your fresh air intake at cowl beneath the wind screen should have an intact and clean pollen filter to prevent dust.
