Engive vibration has me rattled... *SOLVED*
 

Two weeks ago I was driving at 45 mph when I heard a pop followed by a short clanking as if a rock was bouncing in the engine bay. Soon after I noticed an odd vibration throughout the truck, so I parked it at the house, and ordered some parts (t-case, valve cover, and oil pan leaks). When the parts arrived I cracked open the oil pan and checked all of the bearing caps for looseness. All of them seemed well so I sealed it all back up. I did find a missing cap on a vacuum port and suspected that was possibly the clanking I heard (hose clamp) so I re-capped it. Everything else seems good. Plug wires look good, O2's are reading correct, vacuum hoses are solid, idle is perfect, all mounts are 1yr old, tight, and look good, but it still flipping vibrates! It reminds me of a supped up 60's muscle car.


It drives fine but the vibration is obviously there. At one point driving on the highway today, i floored it to get around this slow Kia. For about a minute after it started to chirp and I thought for sure it was the spun bearing coming to fruition, but not only did it go away, it also turns out my water pump exploded and the chirp was most likely from a wet belt...


I'm concerned simply because it ran smooth before and has no reason to shake like a NASCAR. Thanks for any input

Last piece of info I forgot- right before parking it today, I revved it while sitting and managed to have it backfire once out the tailpipe. Hope that helps

I went out to hose down the engine bay to find the exact location of the coolant leak before ordering parts. During inspection I spotted a missing fan blade. That explains the vibration which in resulted in a shot water pump bearing causing the leak. Should be back operational this weekend.

I didn't think a missing fan blade could cause that much vibration. But I was wrong.
