Faulty Inertia Switch?
Hello guys im having a little trouble with my D2. Today i got back home from running some errands, parked my land rover and went inside. After 2 hours i was going to go for some food and my rover would not turn on. I checked the fuel pump and it wasn't turning on when i would turn the key. I went to the front and clicked the inertia switch. As soon as i clicked it the hazards lights came on and truck still wouldn't turn on. So I tapped the inertia switch and clicked it again but still no response from the fuel pump. I just switched out my fuel pump a month ago and everything was working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the inertia switch on a d2 is only two wires, should be pretty easy to jump for testing.

I already bypassed it. I'm running out of ideas. The hazard light are on and won't go off. The truck will turn on If I spray the intake which tells me that their is spark.

Check your fuel pump relay, if that is OK, then you may have a bad CPS.
|
Can it be a bad cps even if it fires up with spray thru the throttle?
|
the hazards are on and will not go off, i "believe" that means the inertia is tripped. I had it happen to me once a long time ago, maybe i pulled the negative battery cable for a minute and it reset. cant remember for sure.
you can check the cps with an obdII scanner that gives live readings, if it reads 0 while cranking the sensor is bad. |
I think that's my problem too. So after you reset the inertia is their anything you have to do? Or you reset and the fuel pump should turn on when you switch the key??
|
it was a while ago, but i remember i did something and when i tried to start the truck it would not start, and the flasher would not shut off. I do not have a alarm remote so i could not have reset it that way. I must have disconnected the battery in order to get it to get the switch to reset, I think.

I'm going to try that. Cause in my opinion everything is working since I was able to get it going with a little spray but the fuel pump won't budge. The weird part is that I haven't gone off road in weeks.

also if i remember correctly there are two plugs on the drivers side of the throttle body that can be reversed. I think they the only two that will.
