Default Help with Lift Kits and Tires

I'm giving my son my 2002 Land Rover Discovery ii 4x4. He wants to lift it and add larger wheels/tires. We know very little about how to go about finding the right lift, tires and wheels. We are thinking a 3" suspension lift and 33" tires. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!
Joe

Anything more than 2 inches and you can get into drive shaft and suspension issues as I understand it. You may want to consider what you are really doing as to tires too, I run pretty much everywhere at stock height with a set of 245/16/77 Cooper Discovery S/T Maxx. I do have a 2 inch lift to install, just have not had time.

Having said that check out Lucky 8 Lucky 8 lifts they have a variety of options, and I have found them to be very helpful

You will also need brake lines, and possibly extended ABS sensor wiring at 3 inches.

X2. When going to bigger tires you will also notice that your truck will have lag on take off and notice this more when going up hill. You can get away with 31" tires with stock gearing but larger than that you will need to re-gear your front and rear differential. As stated above by Richard lifting the truck more than 2" will require more than just installing springs and shocks.
