Help! Multiple Misfire/No Power

Need help with '99 Disco II. Was getting misfire codes (0305 and 0303) and O2 codes saying "too lean" but truck guzzling fuel (8-9 mpg) Changed plugs. Ran well for months. One day began running really rough...bucking and no power on pickup. Started getting multiple codes. 0300, 1300, 302, 303, 305, 306, 308, 135, 136 and 155. Pulled manifold and put on magnacore wires, coil packs from my old 2000 DII (had about 500 miles on them). Truck started up and idled like a dream. Started to drive, bucking got worse, bucking violently, zero power. Pieces of inside of catalytic converter shot out back of magnaflow exhaust pipe. So, ordered new magnaflow cat. First fire up was good. Idled and sounded perfect. Blew some smoke, first black and then tan color. Probably stuff from old cat blowing out. No more smoke. Went for test drive. Started nice, turned fast to running really rough. Have no power...getting misfires still (1300, 300, 302, 303, 305, 306, 308) Put another new set of plugs, this time used copper and set gap. Idles beautifully, but won't take any power. Read forums for hours, pulled and checked plugs. Still clean. Clean O2 sensors and put dialectric grease. Checked voltage...spot on. At NO time did the exhaust smell like antifreeze.

This morning ran truck, still misfires, idles high to get moving, no power and drinking fuel. Got the multiple misfire codes and 0116. Gonna get new O2s. (The ones on it had about 500 miles on them from old truck...tree fell on that one and was totaled.)

Help...running out of game plans...

Th 0116 is that coolant is below temp the "model" in software thinks it should be. The ECT can send a bad signal and make truck drink more fuel (running rich). With all the misfires you probably are staying in open loop fueling, so that puts mpg down as well.

So...possibly bad computer? I do have the BCU from the other truck. Does that need swapping? Or can the programming be fixed?

OK. Saga continues. Swapped MAF. Drove. Still getting the swarm of misfire codes. Now also got 0733 - Gear 3 incorrect ratio and 0150 O2 Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 1) to add in the mix. Have new O2 sensors on the way. Still idling very rough, no power, rev high to get moving.

Multiple misfire no power 2000 Disco

I've got multiple misfires, can't seem to figure it out. Changed the plugs, the plug wires, cleaned the dirty MAF sensor with CRC MAF cleaner, monitored the O2 sensor voltages--most of the time they're all 4 just fine. 2000 Discovery II. I suspect the coil packs but they are to expensive to buy and "try". Another thing is the exhaust smells rich... and the passenger side catalytic converter gets extremely hot. I decided to disconnect the exhaust on that passenger side to see if the problem is a plugged up cat but it made no difference, still no power under a load and misfiring like crazy. Put my Snapon Verdict analyzer on it but the information seemed quite limited on this vehicle compared to other vehicles.
Codes:
P1300
P0304
P0305
P0301
P0300
P0308
P0134
P0303
Cleared those codes and they all returned except the P0134, it didn't return.
Any ideas? Disco Mike??
Thank you.
Scott

Well, a little better after O2 sensors. No more O2 codes. No 134 no 116...just the multiple misfires. Went from 14 codes to 0 to 4.

Savannah, what is the ECT and where is it located? Is that similar to temperature sensor that may be stuck on extreme cold?

Guzzling fuel and bucking. Idles like a dream...just cannot put power to it. Sounds like Wizard has same, but I just replaced cats...and still happening.

1 Attachment(s)
ECT (engine coolant transducer) is the heat sensor, top of engine between AC compressor and alternator. On a D2 it drives the ECU, and the ECU drives the temp gauge. An OBDII scanner will reveal the ECT readings and if they are logical (like -40F in a heated garage).

Savannah, I only got the 116 code that one time. Hasn't come back. My scanner only reads codes, not details. Could it be the culprit to this whole problem?

had same problem with 01 discovery put plugs plug wires and added seafoam to clean injectors now it runs smooth has power it still does it sometimes after starting but I think it has stuff in the tank but check injectors hope it helps
