hesd gasket
 

hello,
can anybody out there advise me on having my cylinder head skimmed.
i have 300tdi engine which blew a head gasket is it worth having it skimmed
or does it cause to many problems such as overheating.

just had simialr problem with my disco 2 suddenly started to lose water by pressuring back through the expansion bottle. long and short of it according to my LR service guy who is a Ex Dealership Head of workshop and very knowledgable is don't bother...you cant really skim the head cos its ally and also if the engine has cooked a bit then chances are the gasket has impribted itself in the head and you wont get a decent seal with a new gasket or a recon block...not good news i'm afraid.
