How to drain gas from Range Rover Sport
I work at an exporting company and sometimes we get RRS into our warehouse. We have to remove all the gas from the tanks when we export. We are having difficulty removing the gas from the RR. For other cars we just stick a long tube in the gas tank and pump it out. But the Range we have tried many times with no success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |
Im guessing, but if the fuel pump is on the tank, Take out the fuel pump and siphon out the tank.
Good luck. |
Thanks Abran, that did cross my mind. But that seems like too much work. Someone told me you can drain the gas from under the hood, near the engine. But he was in a rush and couldnt explain it to me.

Sorry, that's all I got!

I find that with any Rover the tank will drain pretty quickly if you DRIVE IT.

pull the fuel line off the throttle body and turn the key on.

I think the fuel pump will shut off if the engine management system does not detect combustion, but that's a guess.

x2! it'll even eat lots of gas at idle. what's the problem with the hose-in-the-tank siphon method? |
