Yeah, it should be a dark thick oil not red at all. That is probably why he sold it to you so cheap.
You can use either the same lube in your front and rear diff as the center diff.
You should go ahead and service all three. Those are the main parts of your 4 wheel drive. They are almost bulletproof if you keep the fluids fresh and filled properly. Very expensive if you let them go.

yeah i dont know if it was the wrong fluid but it was like a redish brown color not thick at all i just added 70w140 synthetic and it was totally different from what it came out.
