Issues with new pressure plate and rebuilt transfercase
Good morning guys,
I am new here and came specifically for assistance. Please excuse my rude ways.
My 2000 Disco 2 TD5 manual had the TC explode on me. Had the box dropped and the mechy managed to bend the pressure plate.
Had the Disco at another mechanic that rebuilt the tc, box and installed a new pressure plate. Now I have an issue with selecting gears unfortunately.
When the motor is not running, I can select all gears. When the motor is running however, I cannot select any gears even with the clutch depressed. If I engage a gear and depress clutch and then try start it, it lurches forward as if the clutch is not disengaging.
Any idea what could be causing this and how best to repair. According to the mechanic, I need both a new master and slave cylinder, however these were fine before the TC exploded.
The vehicle stood for roughly 6 months while they were rebuilding the box
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
