Don't use the dealer, that work will cost you in excess of $1400 thru them and Jiffy lube is by no way qualified to do this sort of work.
Do it your self at a cost of around $350, I can walk you thru it. |
Thanks guys for the advice. Mike - What number can I reach you on when I'm ready to get this going. Will I need any special equipment or tools.

PM me with your tele number and I'll call you right back.

I don't know what dealer is charging $1400 for a 60k ( I'm sure they are out there ), you might want to shop around. My LR dealership is only charging roughly $650 for the factory recomended service maintenance scheduled 60k on a 2003 to 2004 disco. There are upgrades for engine oil flush ( as needed only!!! ) and upper intake fuel injection cleaning ( $150 ish, recomended once a year ). Spark plug WIRES are not recomended and trans oil is only drain pan and refill ( recomend full trans flush if fluid is dark ONLY! ). You also get new spark plugs, air filter, engine oil and filter ( up to 7 quarts ), t-box fluid drain, brake inspection e-brake adjustment, check all bushings and lines, check seat belts, lube hinges, check lights, add fuel LR fuel additive, check wipers, check and NOT replace serp belt ( unless cracked, done every 45k ). What else...?! tire pressures/check tires...etc
I DO NOT recomend any lube shop as it could turn really, really costly if they screw it up ( it happens! ). That's my 2 bits, for what it's worth. |
