L322 engine replacement
 

Hello i am new here and i just purchased a 05 L322 and while the engine is running ok,i find it quite sluggish,i was wondering if
there are any suggestions as to engine upgrades,my range only has 180 bhp and i was told i can replace my engine with a newer
bmw engine with 218 bhp the remap it to 280 bhp without too much changing about,it was also recommended that if i am replacing
the engine i should try get the gear box to match the engine block.A friend suggested dropping a cummins 6 engine but i am looking for
smooth quieter more powerful engine,not all out speed.Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.
