No audio from radio.

Hello, I am new to the forum.

I recently purchased a '93 D1 V8i as my first car, it seems the previous owner has done some work with the radio (Replaced the speakers and wiring). The D1 came with an aftermarket old Kenwood CD player which wasn't connected. Upon installation I found that the speakers would crackle when I connect them, but there was no audio. As I have stated, this is my first car and I don't really know where to start with this. I have read around on the net and seen that some Land Rovers have amplifiers which would cause this problem when not plugged in but I don't see any cable which would tell me there is one, there is also a CD changer underneath the drivers seat, could this do the same thing? I appreciate any and all help.

Thankyou.

on the Discovery 2,the amp is under the driver's seat not sure but it might be the same for the D1. You might want to get rid of the cd changer for the simple fact everything is digital and can be streamed. I personally re-ran all new speaker wire to all the door locations, ran RCA's from the head unit to amp and sub in the rear. My factory head unit wold cut out the left channel, I would have to turn all the way down and back up for it to come back on. Long story short, take the time to do it right. It took me a weekend to completely redo my stereo system, and I'm a thousand times happier. Hope this helps

Pumping kickers in my doors and A posts with a Kenwood 750w 4ch amp,12 inch JL audio sealed with a JL audio 300w single ch marine amp.

Best to re-post your question in the D1 area.

Thanks :) I will definitely rip the CD changer out, the guts of it were removed from it anyway haha. Yeah I've had a look at the wiring in the doors and it looks like it was replaced when the speakers we're replaced.
