right hub assembly
 

I have a 2002 Landrover Discovery. I took it to the dealership for its 30,000 mile check up and about 4 days later the ABS light , the TC light and the hill descent controll light went on (all at the same time). I took it back in and was informed that the "right hub assembly" needs to be replaced and it will cost $680. They said it was an electrical problem and wouldn't affect the driving but is dangerous b/c if something with one of those systems does go wrong - I won't know b/c the lights are already on. Has anybody had this problem or have any advice for me. Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't have the dealer do it unless it was specifically covered under warranty, first off. They will usually charge you quite a bit more than another mechanic (although not always), and will ALWAYS charge you more for parts. If you are not comfortable doing your own work, either find a local mechanic you can trust or get a friend to help you. I don't know much about the 'right hub assembly', but I can't imagine that it would cost anywhere NEAR that to do it yourself, or have it done away from the dealership.

yes it happend to us in our 2001 disco so a couple of weeks ago now we went and got a 2003 disco and thats fine
ours was undewr the warrenty but they changed there "reasons" or should i say excuses for this happining everytime. the only one i can remember was the "abs sensor" in the back right wheel, dont know if that helps but there ya go anyway
