Starting issue
 

What else huh. 1997 LR Discovery,new battery, relays, starter pulled & tested out as good, ground to frame cleaned, all fuses, under dash & hood are fine.
Started great for 6 months, now I have ignition, but not even a click from the starter, but there's a tick tock sound under the glove box. Will someone please help me asap?

check the starter see if there's a flat exposed pin ... if yes check for a wire lurking around with a relay clip looking like it will fit on it , that's the ignition wire from the switch ... if its off your starter wont turn over ..... see attached so you have an idea .

Sounds like an emergency flasher relay to me.

thank you!It is attached. I get a tiny crackling\spark when I take the ground to the battery off & put it back on. I've read crank sensors go bad but I'm not sure where it is, also I suspect the starter\solenoid may be going, just wondered if that would cause the spark?

You could buy a remote control starter switch so you can eliminate the ignition as a problem. Plus, its nice to have in the toolbox.

There's a relay near the right hand kick panel that controls the circuit for the solenoid on the starter. When you try to start it, are you getting any current to the wire in post #2 that you checked?

You really need to look in the ETM at the starter circuit and heck it from end to end. It does sound like you have connectivity between at least the ignition switch and the relay.
