Traction control and Hill decent problem

Hi everyone,
I have `01TD4 Freelander which developed a problem last night. Half way through a journey the "TC" (traction control) and the "Hill decent control with and exclaimation mark" came on and stayed on till the end of the journey. (Both warning lights are yellow. They were off for the first part of my journey and then re-appeared. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Tony

RE: Traction control and Hill decent problem

How many miles on your truck, what sort of driving were you doing, were you 4wheeling or on a loose surface? How long has it been since you changed your brake fluid?

RE: Traction control and Hill decent problem

Hi Mike,
I managed to resolved the problem. I noticed my brake lights were also not working.
On the brake pedal there seems to be two switches. One small one and one
larger black "plunger" type switch. This switch wasnt moving or doing anything
no matter where the brake pedal was. I noticed it was stuck in place.
I replaced that and my brakes lights now work and the Traction and HDC error light
havent come on, after 300 miles of driving.

So all seems to be good.
The switch was 10euros plus tax.

I am having a similar issue after getting stuck in a water crossing and getting water in the cab. Hill decent and TC warning lights are coming on. Could this be the same issue?

I didn't even see the date haha! I guess land rover problems haven't changed in 12 years.
