Default Vehicle Tilter.

Has anyone used a vehicle tilter on their Land Rover? How well do they work? I'm looking for something that will give me excellent access to the bottom so that I can sandblast, wire wheel, and then paint using something like Rust Bullet to end the corrosion once and for all (at least the life of the vehicle for all the places I can get to).

Other suggestions welcome. I wouldn't mind splitting on a tilter with other folks, I don't really need one all the time.

Years ago a mate has a veryold and sad WW2 jeep that he used to tip on its side if he had to do any work under side, guess you don't need that sort of tilter :-)

Auto tilters aren't normally designed for the COG that a Rover has. Unless it specifically says it can handle a vehicle of this size I wouldn't risk it. They are generally only designed for smaller, lighter, classic cars.

With that brand of tilter ($$$!) it states that it will handle the weight and size of a Rover (up to 80 degrees), but I think you areplacing your and your Rover's safety in the hands of questionable engineering.

Well the advertisers and manufacturers say it works great, so it must.

Something like this has been the ONLY thing holding me back from buying a brand new top of the range Rangie or Rangie Rover Sport or perhaps even a Lamborghini just to make fixing them a bit easier :-)

A brave man would have to have a couple of drinks before he tried on of these gadgets ....... Or if a customer went to the local workshop of the dealer and saw his vehicle on one of these he would NEED a couple of drinks :-)

If you believe that advertisement, I have some swamp land just outside of Phoenix for sale.
Don't believ everything you read.

Mike I hope you didn't think I was serious?

Now, stop disturbing me, my therapist said I should lie down somewhere dark and quiet until the urge to order one goes away.
