2008 LR2 wont start
I have a 2008 Lr2 HSE. Started having issues starting and I thought it was the battery. So I replaced the battery and the problem still exists. Replaced the starter with a OE starter and still the same. Starter will click and all the lights will come on the dash. Wait a few seconds and it will do the same thing. Not sure what else it could be. Local land rover dealer said they won't work on anything later than a 2012. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the computer report any errors? Did you have it scanned? What error codes are reported? Did you fully charge the replacement battery before installing it, and is it new?
If you tell us where you are located we may be able to recommend a reputable mechanic with LR experience. Hard to believe that dealer told you they won't work on your car.

Yeah, that's an amazing new low for JLR... won't work on a ten-year old vehicle???
Fortunately I fired them long before they fired me
Normally with a new battery and starter, and a solenoid click I might be worried about the motor not being free to turn over (that's bad) but given the LR2 history with electrical and starter issues I'd keep working on those.
I assume you installed the starter? Did you hook back up all of the battery wires, and all of the wires to the starter? There's a small one on the battery that's easy to miss (BTDT).
Also try a computer reset: disconnect the battery for ten minutes. Touch the battery +/- terminals together for ten seconds. Reconnect battery. Wait ten minutes. Put key in slot. Wait ten minutes. Turn on the dash without starting (hold start button for several seconds with foot OFF brake). Wait ten minutes. Try starting.
If that doesn't work take the battery back to the store to get checked. Then I guess I'd take out the starter and try to bench test it to make sure it spins, might have got a bad one.

Fixed
So after replacing the starter with a new OE starter and a new battery just in case with 850 cca. I checked the fuse leading from the battery to the starter. It showed it had current going through it. I jumped it off just in case and tge vehicle started. So I took the cable off and looked at the fuse. It had a hairline crack in it. Just enough to have current going through it but not enough to crank the vehicle. Thanks everyone for your help and maybe this will help other people as well.
