Default 2008 lr2

Hey Folks, was installing an evac pump to a clients 2008 LR2 and in my infinite wisdom took the passenger side apart instead of the Drivers. Sadly I found oops and some sort of sensor, oval shaped, rubber coated just dangling from 2 wires behind the inner fender. Their does not seem to be a place for this sensor, it has holes like it was a gasket/sensor.
Thoughts???

That is a TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) initiator. The car has four, one for each wheel/tire. It sends a signal to the TPMS module and the module responds with status info, which is then communicated to the computer. They mount behind the fender splash shield. This is how it is mounted:
