Default LR2 no-start diag

So my wife's LR2 has been having some issues lately, in addition to a few other things I've got it not wanting to start right now. I suspected the ignition coils so I pulled off the cover and took a look at them. One of them seems to have shorted and has the top melted (pic below). I bought a spark tester and tested all the coils/spark plugs and got no sign of spark from any of them. I either used the tool wrong lol or all 6 coils suddenly went bad all at once? I'm wondering if there is a distributor on these cars?

Check Fuse 12, should be a blue 20A fuse. Its likely when the coil failed, it shorted and blew the fuse.

That's exactly what it was brother. Found the blown fuse and replaced it, now we're getting spark. I still need to replace the one coil that shorted, I will probably replace all 6 coils + plugs anyway. Now I can move on to the other lingering issues this car has.

Thanks for the nudge in the right direction Techniker.

I might have jumped the gun a bit on this one. the fuse did bring back spark, so I bought all 6 new coils and replaced them thinking this would be the final fix, but the car still will not start. I confirmed spark on all 6 coils already. I can also hear the fuel pump turn on perfectly fine. The car turns over and seems like it is about to start but doesn't. I don't know where else to go from here.

Did you replace the plugs like you said you would? Did any of the plugs look "wet"?

If the car wasn't starting due to "no spark", it is possible that the injectors were still spraying and the engine is now flooded. If you don't remember what the plugs looked like, take a few out right now and see what they look like.

Also, make sure you check ALL the other fuses, just in case.

I did replace the plugs as well. None of them looked wet when I removed them but I will check the new ones. I also did check all the other fuses and all were good.

It started. I had a friend come over and give me his opinion. He cranked it, gave it a little gas and it started right up. It's been starting every time since. I guess it just needed a little encouragement to start back up.

I had the exact same problem and you saved the day! F12 was indeed blown. Replaced it and she fired right up and ran like a champ.

THANK YOU!!!!
