I was ready to just splice wires to the requisite wiring to each 'bulb', as I see nothing available as a 'plug in', or a pre-set add on. There are a few ridiculously expensive EU versions for the Freelander, for older years... but I'm not throwing $300 into some simple wiring connections.
Could you fill me in on what you know about this? (More than just 'buy the OEM brand and a 7 wire to 4 wire converter'), as that did not help my search at all... ie: no OEM item found. Thank you for your time! The trick to finding affordable EU-specific stuff (or even alternatives, like the dual-fan radiator) is to look for salvage yards in the EU. Some other options for wiring kits: eTrailer sells a kit. Here is one for your car's year, only about £150 with shipping to the US Here are the instructions to install the OEM kit. I use www.car-part.com A LOT. It centralizes all salvage yards in the US, and if you search for trailer hitches you may find a US OEM kit cheap. Google for: 2014 freelander 2 caravan wiring and I am sure you will find many other options. (This is why my clients call me "The Gopher." I can find anything using Google searches.) |
Thank you... Appreciate the detail. - Lost my old forum access... so, now, as a new User, I seem to only get ONE message in my in-box! LOL
Followed the link to the harness recommended, and shipping is more than the cost of the item. Crazy times! |
@flybd5 I noticed the car-part website provides a drop-down list where you select the item you are looking for. What if your item is not on their list? I was looking for an other/free-form entry option but didn't see one. Do you know a solution?
