Man thanks so much. Long story short I had to take the intake manifold out to replace an engine oil coolant hose and I got everything put back together except that damn connector and for the life of me couldn't find its place. I had inadvertently pinned it in an area off from where it normally went just by a little but enough to blind me where it was supposed to go. All in all I can't believe the ol Rover cranked without it and would actually run but not over 2krpm. It's a 2008 LR2 SE. Thanks again for the help.
Best,
JD

Yeah it will run without it, but like crap.

We've had people here complaining that their LR2 runs like crap after an oil and filter change at the Quick Lube and it's usually that connector got left off.

I have to wonder how does it even run with no throttle control... I would think it would be stuck near idle, where it was when the car was shut down.
