2008 LR3 power seats just stopped working

Both the driver and passenger side power seats in my LR3 just stopped working for no apparent reason. I checked both fuses, and both are good.

I read somewhere that it might be the relay, but I can't find any other info on the existence of a power seat relay.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Attached are elecrical drawings. Fuse links 11 and 18 in the battery junction box could be involved, plus 29, 33, 46, and 54 (if memory seats) in the central junction box. As both seats died, I would not suspect the ground points, as they are two separate items. Relay is only involved with one seat I think.

I'll check out the fuses in the battery junction box (not memory seats).

I don't know if this is relevant, but the lumbar support moves in one direction only (up not down). It's only on the driver's side, and is the only part of the power seats that is working, albeit it has nothing to do with adjusting the position of the seat.

I appreciate the assist. I'll post the results.

don't want to be troublesome, but what would I have to do to get you to open the attached pdf file of the schematic and look at it? The reason I ask is some folks don't trust opening files, which is OK, but I'm kinda out of options to present the technical material.

I looked at the schematic, and I can see where links 18E and 11E connect. I have been able to check them yet. My daughter has the LR3 at school (seats are stuck in her position).

Are they actual fuses?

As soon as she returns, I will check them out.

I assumed the diagram referred to the fuse box in the engine compartment. I looked there and I could not identify the links.

Is it one of those small black boxes located in the fuse box?

Fuse links bolt in place.

Looking at the diagram, the fuse links are labled "FL". There is a FL11 30amp and FL18 50 amp.

How do you tell if the link is broken?

Savannah Buzz Feb 6, 2013 07:05 PM

Meter, check for continuity. With engine off.

Replaced both FL 11 and 18 (just to make sure), and double checked the involved inside fuses. Everything looks good, but the seats still don't work.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks
