Always says D by gear shifter
 

Hello I've been having problems with my 06 lr3 HSE. The orange light D by the gear shifter is always light D even when in park. Even when I shut off my car. But on the dash everything work as should goes into every gear P R D as should but when I go into sport mode it does nothing so just wondering if someone ran into this issue

Thats an issue with the shifter, there is a PCB on the side of it that either has had water/fluid ingress or a wiring issue. Mine was caused by a summer thunderstorm that flooded the centre console and shifter, replaced the whole shifter mechanism and the short bit of wiring harness and that fixed it.
