They are not identical at all, look close. With that said, they probably operate the same if installation wont interfere and it can still be plugged in.

Hi.. and thanks for your support.. so turns out the O2 sensors are ok, just had a missing fuse in the feed circuit. .prob my fault. .duh.
I still get the EGR code P0406 - circuit A high.. and now get P2099 and P2097 .. downstream O2 sensors showing rich trim.. I guess the EGR.. what say you? |
So you may have. had two issues. Odd the downstream show a code but not the upstream O2 sensors. The upstream should be more sensitive, so to speak. Are you sure the EGR valve is getting power when it should (also not missing a fuse)?

The EGR valve should be fully closed by default (engine off, etc). And it does not operate at all RPM. So the 0 when driving might be normal. I can not say for sure as EGR systems are one thing I never really had to dig into - which also means I have no clue how that error translates either.

update.. On a 2005 LR3 4.0 v6... so I did get the EGV1055 EGR valve, instead of the 1178, and they are different, but only in orientation of the top half, containing the sensor modules. I fixed the orientation, instead of making adjustments to the wiring and vacuum lines.. which was the other option.. anyway.. saved a bill with 10 mins of work. The EGR code that I had, P0406 . .'egr circuit A sensor high' cleared, and no CEL!! for the first 20 minute test ride. The next drive .. CEL comes on.. in 3 mins .. F*k.
Now I get P2097 .. Post Catalyst fuel trim system too rich. need to check what the sensor is outputting.. Will look for leaking/clogged exhaust or O2 sensor or wiring.. Any other ideas/comments? TIA |
