Battery Recommendations
I need a new battery in our 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4. It starting having issues last Friday, through a charger on it for a day and still had issues. Slow turning over. Went out today and it was dead. Interstate has several options, including an basic lead acid for $150ish up to an AGM battery $225. Costco has an AGM, interstate battery for $177. Any thoughts on the AGM vs. Lead Acid? thanks Phil

I get the gold (around 170 for our trucks) and they install it. Also has a 3 year warranty that they actually do honor.
I had to replace my battery last month, it was just under warranty (2+ years old). They tested it, came back dead. They swapped it out and reset the warranty for $0

I just replaced mine with the costco AGM. So far so good.
On a similar note, I recently replaced a 2006 BMW X5 and noticed there's a setting in the ECU that changes the charging profile depending on AGM vs conventional. I haven't seen anything like that in the gap tool so I assume we're ok.

I got a Duracell Platinum AGM from Sam's (H8)
Also got a battery charger/maintainer and began using it 1-3x/mo
Previous 2 standard Interstates lasted less than 2 years each with no charger/maintainer
I think supplemental charging is the key to making any battery last
I do like the pros of AGM vs standard

We have an Interstate Store here in San Diego. They sell blems for most sizes. The H-8 of course is hard to come by. They had one H-8 in a lead acid, not AGM. The blem was $60. Even though the blem only has a 6 month warranty, I couldn't resist the $160 price difference. Installed the battery and runs like new again. Interstate wanted $230 for the AGM, same battery is $177 at Costco. Interstate has two or three lead acid batteries, prices range from $160 to $200.
I have been getting a transfer case fault and transmission fault when the truck does the systems check. I couldn't figure it out. When I had the battery out, I removed the TCCM cover and unplugged the TCCM, three plugs as I recall. The connections were spotless, no corrosion at all. I cleaned the both the male and female sides with electrical contact cleaner and lightly brushed them with a small brass brush. When I turned the key and the truck performed the system check, no faults. I have now put about 20 miles on the truck and have down four or five startups, still no faults. Not sure if it was dirty connections or the new fully charged battery.
Thanks for the input, we have an AGM in our 2010 Range Rover Sport and I just put an AGM in our 2006 Range Rover Sport (the one with the electrical issues, now sorted).
Love this forum, not sure how I could own a Land Rover without it.
