"Coolant Level Low" 2008 LR3

Hi all. I'm new to LR so this may be a dumb question. I got a quick "Low Coolant level" warning which disappeared soon after. How do I check coolant? Where is it? Can I add it myself? 2008 LR3 SE. 86K miles. Just purchased last month. Thank you.

Look at your expansion tank, Your going to have to bleed the system once you've added coolant. I wouldn't drive it at all until you do this.

Coolant...

Welcome to the LR3 family! Im pretty new to it all too but my LR3 is by far the best car I have ever owned. I love it!

Definitely check the expansion tank. But be forewarned the sensor inside the expansion tank is notorious for going out. I have been told the only way to fix the sensor is to get a whole new expansion tank while others have said its possible to fix the sensor once the expansion tank is removed. There are others on this board that can answer that question better than I can. As of yet I have done neither and ignore the daily warning as I check the expansion tank on a weekly basis when Im doing my other quick checks.

I have same problem with my 2006 model. Fix it simple buy new expansion tank it comes with sensor. Installment takes about 15 min if you have right tool.

I'd 2nd the expansion tank replacement, as I think I'm on about my 4rth. You'd think as long as vehicles have been around, this stupid problem could be resolved once and for all, unless you are in the expansion tank manufacturing business.

The float gets saturated and doesn't float anymore.
