Cooper Zeon LTZs vs. Nitto Terra Grapplers
 

Hi all,
I am getting 18 rims for my 05 lr3 and am debating between the Cooper Zeon LTZs vs. Nitto Terra Grapplers for tire choice (285/60/18).

What are the differences?

At that size (31.5"), you're most likely going to have some rubbing issues with either tire. See the recent post about Zeons cracking; seems to be more than anecdototal. No idea if the Grapplers have issues. Check the load and wear rating and compare

as far as the size goes both will do fine without major rubbing.. you may want to flip the sensor wire harnes up n away in the wheel whell..

You good with the size..

The Coopers look cooler, they may be better for rocks ... more edgy.. the Nittos wear quicker but the rubber is stickier thus the traction on asphalt bit better..

The Zeons on wet slushy snowy roads act like snowboards.. you will glide on them..
If you go over 30 to 40 K on Coopers they may crack and blow up on you..

The Nittos considering the stickier compound will simply wear out quicker.. will not fail you though..

If you are living in a warmer climate get the Zeons.. just be very observant when you hit 30 K.. if you are considering driving in a slushy wet cold snowy climate go for Nittos..

There is a guy near me that has those Coopers on his LR4 and those look the part. From what I read they work good, but that was on a Jeep.

All the lifted trucks in my area all use the Nittos.....I say 98% of them. They do wear pretty quickly. Just need to rotate them ever 5k or so to keep them evenly worn.
