Help with Trouble Code B1A55-14

Hey all! 2005 LR3 w/ 4.4 and 107k miles. I have received the red SRS airbag warning lamp. My GAP tool is showing code “B1A55-14 (2C) Crash record output circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open”. This code immediately returns upon reset.

Does anyone have any experience with this code? I’m not finding much on Google or any of the forums.

Thanks!

Did you figure this out at all? This just came up tonight for me too, and haven’t been able to find much.

Yes! Sorry I didn't post the follow-up - It was a separated wire in the monstrosity otherwise known as the passenger side doorsill wire chase. I've had to go in there a couple times now.. I thought I had found all the crappy connections in there but I missed this one. It was buried at the bottom up near the front of the doorsill. I have attached a pic I found on the internet of the splice.. I disconnected the battery before I messed with these. Good luck!

...any idea how it got separated? What were you "in there" for previously?

It's a pretty weak splice from the factory. I've had water intrusion over the years due to sunroof drain issues, and it's caused a few of these splices to corrode a bit. Have you had any sunroof drain issues lately? I've been in there before for the keyless entry splice and then went back in and found one or two more. It's not a fun place to get to (at least in my truck). I think I'd rather replace my fan belt again then go back in that doorsill!

...thankfully I never had intrusion issues and got my sunroof drains snipped before they could cause a problem.
